The Initiative

It is known to all of us that Pepperfry.com is India’s online leading home and furniture store. Every piece of their furniture is crafted to perfection. However, this required a little bit of time and waiting for the customers. Customer-driven Pepperfry was not happy with that. Aiming to make their waiting period special and memorable, they wished to send a small token to their customers before their order arrived. To spread their message of sustainability, they chose our eco-friendly plantable paper that can be buried into soil after use. This paper slowly transforms itself into a beautiful plant.

It was then time to figure what product to make for them. In order to protect their wooden furniture, we thought it would be interesting to make seed paper coasters for them. Their design team did a wonderful job in adding trendy styles and colors to these coasters. As planned, they were sent to the customers whose response was so overwhelming.

To take this a step further, a year later, calendars were made out of 12 sheets of plantable paper which would grow into 12 different plants at the end of year. The seeds in these sheets of paper were carefully selected according to the weather conditions of the months that they would grow in. The response received was nothing like before. Happy customers shared their experience on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with the hashtag #pepperfyplantamonth.
